The UK’s Best Classic Car Events Of 2018

We’ll see you there! Don’t forget to take note of the when and where…

Brooklands Double Twelve

When – June 16 & 17

Where – Brooklands, Weybridge, Surrey

The reasons to visit Brooklands are many as it has so many events happening all round the year. One of its star attractions is UK’s first ever purpose-built motor sport track. While the Brooklands New Year’s Day Meeting is an amazing start to the year, there’s so much more going on at the Double Twelve and that includes the brilliant opportunity to take on the famous Test Hill. Have a good time enjoying the demonstrations put forth on the Mercedes-Benz World track and do not miss the museum displays and the newly put together start-finish straight.

Sunday Scramble

When – October 7

Where – Bicester Heritage, Oxfordshire

When you think of car gatherings in an informal way, there is nothing better than the Sunday Scramble! This magnificent Bicester Car Heritage is open to the public who get the opportunity to meet more than 30 specialists who are based on the re-established former bomber base from World War Two. This event is flocked by more than a thousand people at one go and it showcases machinery of almost every type and manner which is no easy feat and is quite rare.

Another new addition to the event this year is the AutoClassics cars for sale section. This is where you can sell your classics or purchase a brand new one.

Dragstalgia

When – July 13 & 15

Where – Santa Pod Raceway, Northamptonshire

Have you ever been to a drag-racing event? If not then now is a good time to do just that. If you’re a big fan already, then this is where you get to see all your old favourites. This event attracts the most legendary drag racers of the past 50 years and you get the opportunity to get up close with them in the paddocks. Teams from all across the world come to this event to run their mad machinery, bikes and cars and show off their mad skills.

Donington Historic Festival

When – May 4 & 6

Where – Donington Park, Derbyshire

This event has completed seven amazing years and luckily 2018 will be the first one since Motorsport Vision overtook Donington. This means that an event that was already excellent is going to get even better – how amazing is that! It has great racing that will tune your excitement levels right up plus you can get up and close to the action at the brilliantly sweeping Donington Park circuit.

Goodwood Festival Of Speed

When – July 12 & 15

Where – Goodwood House, Chichester, Sussex

This is much of a modern car event as it is a classic, with its current F1 and WRC racers incorporating the history on the hill climb and the slippery chalk surface of the rally stage when in action. To pack so much action in a single day is impossible really, and there’s nowhere else that you will get to see such a wide array of machinery that is truly iconic with brilliant motorsport graphics adorning the event. This show has replaced the British Motor Show with the manufacturer’s heavy investments. Plus, this year it completes 70 years of Porsche.

Pendine Sands Vintage Hot Roads

When – June 30 to July 1

Where – Pendine Sands, South Wales

This event is as special as it gets. The Vintage Hot Rod Association owns and runs a chain of time trials on several land speed record attempts and hallowed sands for pre 1949 customs and hot roads. Many manage to go past the 100 mph barrier which is no easy feat to achieve on sand. Racing starts at around 11.30 am and it all depends on the tide – spectators can enjoy the show for free, although you will have to pay £3 to park on the sands.

So giddy up and lose yourself in these upcoming events where you’re bound to have the time of your life.
