How To Become More Organised and Less Stressed?

If you’re always running around like a mad person, trying to stay on top of everything you need to do, then it could start affecting your life in a number of ways, not to mention affecting your health.

However, here are some simple things you can do every day to become more organised and less stressed:

Make a to-do list each evening

By writing down all the tasks you need to accomplish the following day, you know that you won’t forget any of these vital tasks come the morning. Doing this can also be vitally important in helping you sleep, as now you won’t need to stay awake as your head spins thinking about all the things you need to do the next day.

Consider what you can do the night before

Mornings can often be rushed, as you may need to be at work or college for a particular time and may need to catch a particular bus or train. So, think about what you can get done the night before, such as getting your work outfit ready, making your lunch and preparing any documentation or anything else you need to take to work

Get a good night’s sleep

An adult needs up to eight hours sleep per night, so work out what time you need to be up in the morning, and hence when you need to turn in for the night. The time you get up in the morning should also be early enough to allow you to complete your morning routine without needing to hurry. Do something relaxing, such as reading, just before nodding off, and when it’s time to sleep, turn off all phones, tablets and anything else that might distract you.

Get one difficult or unwelcome task done each day

Whether it’s defrosting the freezer, completing a difficult work project or cleaning the bathroom, there are quite simply certain less pleasant things we need to do. Whilst it may be tempting to put them off, the longer we leave them, the more it can prey on your mind that you haven’t done them yet. So, ease the burden and get at least one difficult or unwelcome task out of the way each day.

Do some exercise

Adults should complete 150 minutes of moderate physical activity each week. To start the day on the right note, why not do some of this exercise early in the morning, perhaps by taking a brisk walk, going for a run, or visiting the gym on the way to work?

Do things you really enjoy

What do you get really passionate about? Is it, for example, writing your blog, cooking something amazing, gardening or painting? Whatever gets you going, try to do some of it every day. It’s likely to make you feel better than simply watching an hour of TV every day.
