This could be in the form of a certificate or Master’s Degree program in pediatric dentistry and take from 18 months to 3 years to complete. Another option is a residency in pediatric dentistry which can be completed in 2 years. Those specialty programs cover child behavior, growth and development, tooth trauma, preventative care and other specialized topics. You’ll also complete research and clinical work while gaining experience by providing care to pediatric patients.


Children’s dentists in Vancouver require licensure to practice general dentistry issued by the Province.  Licensing requires meeting educational requirements and completion of written and practical exams.
