This means that your preparing time has been drastically reduced, and you cannot afford to be late. The wise thing would be to skip some morning routines. But what do you forgo? Is it the shower, teeth brushing, ironing or breakfast? Which one can you manage: facing the world with creased clothes, a stinking body, a smelly mouth or an empty stomach? Aha?

Any self-respecting person would choose the alternative with the least repercussions: an empty stomach. I mean, you can surely take care of that rumbling stomach with a pack of biscuits to get instant relief, but you surely cannot manage the whole office sitting miles away from your colleagues and with them handing your documents with a ten-meter pole. Thus, you go without breakfast. Now because these mornings are many, you may get used to skipping breakfast and make it a tradition. However, unbeknownst to you, you could be doing yourself a lot of harm. This is because breakfast does the following for you:

1. Prevents you from overeating

In this era when the giant of obesity is glaring at you waiting to pounce, the last thing you should be doing is overeating. When you miss breakfast, you will be more inclined to keep nibbling on snacks throughout the day just to keep you energized. This snacking if not keenly watched can lead to an increase in weight. During the morning, your blood sugar is usually low and so is your metabolism. This is why you should eat breakfast to improve your metabolism. For enhanced metabolism, you must eat within the first two hours of waking up. Also, the types of food you eat for breakfast can also help you manage different common types of arthritis. Therefore, breakfast will go a long way in keeping you energized for the day as well as help you manage arthritis if you are a victim.

4. Helps you perform better

On a day when you have missed breakfast, you are likely to be overly grumpy and irritable. This is in addition to having difficulties remembering things and concentrating. In essence, it is almost impossible to be productive on an empty stomach. This is probably why intelligent employers give their employees breakfast. They are aware of the brain sharpening power of breakfast.

5. Helps you lose weight

We are living at a time when almost everyone is struggling to lose weight. If you are among these people, you have probably reduced your daily meals to a bare minimum. This reduction, aimed at avoiding weight gain, may include not eating breakfast. However, this could be working against you. This is because when you miss breakfast, you are more likely to keep eating during the period before lunch. This can, in the long run, lead to overeating and consequently weight gain. Thus, if you are looking at losing weight this year, purpose to eat a healthy breakfast every day.
