Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh had initiated a move to make Hyderabad a leader in IT but that was considered an elusive dream by many. Now they have been proved wrong and now that Hyderabad is lost to Telangana, the current capital, Amravati is set to achieve similar heights. Some big names have already made their den in the city, like Larsen and Toubro and Shapoorji Pallonji and Co Ltd. Work has been undertaken from Velagapudi and although the National Green Tribunal is opposing some of the moves, work is well underway as builders in India can estimate from the current scenario.

Amravati Steadily Becoming A World Class City

Naturally, once all the projects have been successfully completed, the city would stand to gain a lot. According to real estate developers, to boost tourism to this city, the historical roots of the city dating back to the Satvahana Kingdoms have been brought to the forefront. The region also has ample water supply and unlike most new cities that had developed exponentially over the last couple of decades and have seen a major surge in population leading to water crisis, Amravati is free from those troubles. The location of the city itself, situated in between Vijaywada and Guntur makes it a good investment ground in Hyderabad since it leads up to the fringes of both these cities.

Amravati had some advantages as a tourist spot in the south and with the rising population in these two adjoining cities, more people would come here planning their weekends. To raise new talents in this region, Amravati had also seen a spate in the establishment of schools and technical institutes and certain commercial centers have come up, that would help to bring together all the scattered businesses in the city.

Residential quarters would of course have to be built and real estate developers have marked out certain key areas for the development work. In fact, construction of about 9000 flats have been sanctioned and approved to provide the rising population house in Hyderabad. The Amravati Development Corporation will help in the purchase and allotment of land and some would even be granted to the officials as incentives.

Moreover, most people are unaware about how large Amravati actually is. It is almost six times bigger than Chennai, meaning once it becomes a metropolitan some time in future, it would end up being one of the largest cities in the country. Other planned cities in the nation like Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Bhubaneshwar and Naya Raipur would not have competition. Jurang International Holdings and Surbana International Holdings had already drawn three master plans for the city and it is expected that by 2050, the city will be able to house 13.5 million people. Moreover, Chinese and Japanese firms too are showing interest in this project.

Builders in India are also hopeful that they would see a huge rise in development in this city in the coming years and both in terms of commercial and new residential projects in Hyderabad, luxury and affordable housing alike.
