5 Unorthodox Ways to Promote Your Business

It can be tough to stand out in a crowded marketplace, which is why you’ll have to get creative in your advertising campaigns. Creative campaigns don’t necessarily cost more money than traditional advertising either. It’ll be a risk, but it can pay off when customers remember and flock to your business.

Shopping Cart Advertising

Consider all the people who are pushing a cart around at your local grocery store. If you can’t afford to purchase advertising space on a cart in a very popular grocery store, try a local shop who can use your advertising dollars. You might be able to work out a partnership with them to cross advertise too.

License Plate Covers

While you’re driving or stuck in traffic, you’re forced to stare at the car in front of you, which includes their license plate. If you can create a license plate cover that advertises your business, that’s a good amount of advertising each day. You can place one on your own car as well as give them away to customers.

Rent Human Billboards

Hire a teenager to stand around holding a sign for your business. If they can twirl the sign or be outstanding in some way, it’ll attract more customers to your business too. Pick a person that will be enthusiastic to hold the sign or walk around yelling on busy streets about the business.

Give Away Balloons

It’s not expensive to have balloons made that feature your logo or advertising message. The next time the community is having an event you can give away free balloons. Parents and kids are happy while you have a floating message about your business. Many companies will give out pens or other traditional promotional items, but not many will give out free helium balloons.

Sponsor a Local Kid’s Team

When you sponsor a local sports team, your business name will be on all their jerseys. You’ll likely have to pay for the shirts to be printed as well as give the team some money for equipment, but it’s worth the cost for parents to see the name of your business every time they wash a uniform or see the child running down the field. You could even fund a small awards ceremony at a local pizza shop at the end of the season.

Many unorthodox advertising campaigns are more creative than expensive. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to get creative with your business. It’s inexpensive, and a great way to stand out from the competition too.
